Forward Matt Raw turned Trinity's Tom Priestley in the penalty area before

Ealandians 0 Trinity 3
Robbie Pearson, Tom Priestley and Stevie Travers were on
target as Trinity defeated last season's Senior A champions Ealandians 3-0.
In the first half Ealandians were largely on top.
Forward Glynn Haley's close range shot was spectacularly tipped over the bar
by Trinity goalkeeper Yates. Then a header from from a corner was
cleared off the line by Robbie Pearson.
In the second half Ealandians continued to have the
majority of possession. However Trinity began to look more dangerous
on the break. Early in second half Trinity opened the scoring.
Ealandians' goalkeeper Simkins fumbled a Gareth Curran through ball allowing
Tom Marston to nip in and steal it. He laid the ball to Pearson whose
cross was headed home from close range by Stevie Travers. 1-0 to
Trinity. Shortly afterwards Trinity scored their second.
Marston played a one-two with Chris Gardiner before releasing Pearson down
the left. After beating the right back he sent over a cross that
looped over the keeper and found the far corner of the net. 2-0 to
Trinity. Midway through the half there was a double sending off.
Ealandians' Mike Midwood and Trinity's Gareth Curran were involved in an
altercation off the ball after Curran had made a tackle. The referee
ruled that both players had acted in a manner that warranted a red card.
With a couple of minutes remaining Trinity scored their third. Marston
laid the ball off to defender Tom Priestley who had ventured upfield.
Priestley struck the ball first time from twenty five yards and it sailed
over the goalkeeper before finding the back of the net. 3-0 to Trinity

any points as Trinity were defeated 3-1 by Leeds University.
The away side took the lead early in the first half when
forward Kwame Westerman drove the ball into the bottom corner of the net
from the edge of the penalty area. Shortly afterwards Lees Univesrity

Imran Mughal scored his first goal of the season for
Trinity as they got back to winning ways with 3-0 win over Heckmondwike.

League
Trinity 2 Ealandians 3
Glyn Haley scored two goals for Ealandians as they beat
Trinity 3-2. Despite second half goals from Tom Priestley and Tom
Marston, Trinity couldn't manage to inflict defeat on last season's Senior A
champions.
The away side took the lead early in the first half when
Trinity lost possession cheaply near the halfway line. Haley was at
the far post to head home following a cross from the right to make it 1-0 to
Ealandians. Playing against a heavy wind in the first half Trinity did
well not to concede again. Goalkeeper Jimmy Yates made an acrobatic
save to keep the score down to 1-0 at the half-time break.
With the wind behind their backs in the second half
Trinity equalised shortly after the restart. A long diagonal ball from
Robbie Pearson found the head of Tom Priestley in the penalty area.
Priestley, who had gone up for a free-kick, directed his header into the
net. 1-1. However Ealandians regained their lead straight away.
Haley scored his second of the game firing into the top corner of the net
from the edge of the penalty area. 2-1 to Ealandians. Within
minutes Trinity had equalised again. With Ealandians appealing for
offside Tom Marston drilled the ball with his left foot past the Ealandians'
keeper to make it 2-2. Trinity applied a period of pressure on the
Ealandians' goalmouth as the wind continued to blow in their favour, though
they failed to test make the opposition keeper. With the wind dying
down slightly Ealandians started to get back in the game. They took the lead
when James Parkinson headed home from close range after the ball had
struck the bar. Trinity couldn't force another equaliser and the game
finished 3-2 to Ealandians.

Trinity took the lead early in the first half.

Trinity came back from two goals down to earn a draw at Leeds University.
The home side took the lead early in the first half.
Robbie Pearson lost possession in midfield and a through ball found forward
Chris Ross. He drilled the ball past Yates in the Trinity goal to make

Trinity 5 Yorkshire Bank 1
John Hobbs scored twice as Trinity got back to winning
ways with a 5-1 victory over Yorkshire Bank. Robbie Pearson, Tom
Marston and Tom Priestley were also on target as Trinity beat the Bank for
the third time this season.
Trinity took the lead against an under strength Yorkshire
Bank side when Hobbs tucked the ball home from close range following a cross
from the left. 1-0 to Trinity. Pearson then put Trinity two
goals up when he raced through and drilled a low left foot shot past Bank
stand-in goalkeeper Mark Reid. 2-0. As always Yorkshire Bank
showed fighting qualities and managed to reduce the deficit not long
afterwards. After Trinity gave the ball away cheaply in midfield a
long ball was played over the Trinity defence. Bank forward Phil
Beesting was there to fire the ball into the net to make it 2-1.
Trinity regained their two goal lead just before half-time. Pearson's
cross found Hobbs who scored his second of the game to make it 3-1.

League
Leeds Medics 1 Trinity 0
Trinity's unbeaten league run came to an end at the hands
of Leeds Medics. Forward Matty Lloyd's goal twenty minutes from time
was enough to give all three points to the home side.
Leeds Medics had the majority of possession in a first
half which remained goalless. They nearly took the lead when a shot
was tipped onto the post by Trinity keeper Jimmy Yates. Trinity's best
chance in the opening period resulting in Medic's keeper Alex Whitham making
a fantastic save to prevent Trinity centre back Tom Priestley from scoring.
In the second half Trinity got more into the came and
forced a number of corners. Imran Mughal, returning to the side after
resigning from Roundhegians, and Priestley both had headers that were tipped
over the bar by Whitham. Medics got their goal with twenty minutes of
the game remaining. Forward Matty Lloyd cut in from the left and
with the Trinity defence backing off his low driven shot from just outside
the penalty area found the back of the net, striking the post on the way in.
In a game with both defences and goalkeepers on form it was always going to
take a good goal to break the deadlock and that proved to be the case.
Unfortunately for Trinity they couldn't find a way to equalise and the game
ended 1-0 to Leeds Medics.

Bramley Juniors 2 Trinity 6
Stevie Travers grabbed a hat-trick and Dave Kilsby scored
two goals as Trinity beat bottom of the table Bramley Juniors 6-2.
Robbie Pearson scored the other goal in an emphatic victory.
Playing uphill on a boggy Bramley Park, Trinity conceded
an early goal. A cross from the left was headed home by Bramley
forward James Stewart to give the home side a 1-0 lead. Trinity fought back and
equalised shortly afterwards through Pearson. With the Bramley
goalkeeper out of position on the edge of the penalty area, Pearson chipped
the last defender finding the roof of the net. 1-1. It became
2-1 to Trinity a few minutes later. After a Tom Marston free-kick was
flicked on by a Bramley defender, Dave Kilsby was on hand to steer the ball
home from close range giving Trinity the lead. Bramley were then
awarded a penalty when the ball struck the arm of Richard Lambert as he was
attempting to block a shot. This was converted by Kev Sykes to make it 2-2.
Travers scored his first goal of the game when he found the bottom corner of
the net from the edge of the area after taking on a Bramley defender.
3-2 to Trinity. Then Travers latched onto a Kilsby through ball,
before rounding the keeper and poking the ball home. 4-2. Kilsby
then concluded the scoring for the first half. He headed home from a
Marston free-kick to give Trinity a 5-2 lead going into the break.
After a total of seven goals in the first half the second
period was far quieter. Only one more goal was added to the
scoresheet. This came courtesy of Travers who completed his hat-trick
when he fired home after Marston had played him through. Final score
6-2 to Trinity.

St Nicholas 1
Trinity 3
Tom Marston, Dave Kilsby and Robbie Pearson scored the
goals as Trinity beat bottom of the table St Nicholas 3-1. The victory means
Trinity finish 2008 as leaders of Senior A.
St Nicholas played nothing like their bottom of the table
position would suggest and they were more than a match for Trinity in the
first half. However Trinity's defence ensured that the home side
didn't receive any clear cut scoring chances. Five minutes before the
break Trinity took the lead. Marston fired home from a tight angle
after being played through by Chris Gardiner.
Early in the second half Trinity doubled their lead.
A Gardiner corner was headed home by Kilsby. His first goal of the
season made it 2-0. Pearson scored Trinity's with a shot from the edge
of the area after another through ball from Gardiner. 3-0. With
ten minutes to go St Nicholas scored a consolation goal when a shot from the
edge of the penalty area took a deflection and looped over Jimmy Yates in
the Trinity goal. Final score 3-1 to Trinity.

League
Trinity 1 Wortley 0
Steve Travers scored a late winning goal as Trinity beat
top of the table Wortley 1-0. The victory meant Trinity moved up to
second position in Senior A, one point behind leaders Wortley.
Wortley dominated possession in the first half, but
Trinity's defending in all areas of the pitch was resolute. Wortley,
whose best chances came from set pieces, hit the woodwork in the first
forty-five minutes. However they couldn't find the back of the net and
the first half finished goalless.
In the second half Trinity began to look dangerous on the
break, with Travers and Dave Kilsby both coming close to scoring. The
game looked to be heading for a goalless draw but ten minutes from time
Trinity made the breakthrough. A long hopeful ball played by Chris
Gardiner was misjudged by a Wortley defender, allowing Robbie Pearson to
head towards goal. He cut the ball back to Travers who made no mistake
with his finish from six yards. 1-0 to Trinity. Wortley stepped
up a gear in their bid to equalise. Though it was Trinity that came closest
to adding to the goals tally in the game, when Pearson's shot from close
range was saved by the keeper. Final score 1-0 to Trinity.

Yorkshire Bank 0
Trinity 2
Two late goals gave Trinity victory in a tight encounter
with old rivals Yorkshire Bank. Stevie Travers and Robbie Pearson were
on target as Trinity claimed a 2-0 victory.
Yorkshire Bank came the closest to scoring in the first
half. Trinity left back Pete Compton's desperate slide to clear the
ball off the goal line prevented the home side from taking the lead.
Yorkshire Bank forced a number of corners in the first forty-five minutes
while Trinity's best attacks were as a result of breakaways.
The second half continued in much the same way as the
first with Trinity's defence keeping the home side at bay. Trinity
goalkeeper Jimmy Yates was called upon on a few occasions to prevent the
Bank scoring and Richard Lambert made an excellent goal line diving header
clearance to stop the Bank taking the lead. Trinity looked
particularly dangerous down the left side with Robbie Pearson setting up
attacks with his surging runs. The breakthrough finally came with
minutes remaining and the game heading for a goalless draw. The
unmarked Travers six yards from goal to head in Tom Marston's corner, giving
Trinity a 1-0 lead. This was Trinity's only corner of the game.
Shortly afterwards Pearson secured Trinity's victory with a well-driven shot
from the edge of the penalty area. 2-0 the final score.

Trinity 2 Leeds Medics 2
Tom Priestley and Tom Marston were on target for Trinity
as they drew 2-2 with top of the table Leeds Medics.
Priestley opened the scoring early in the first half,
heading home following a Chris Gardiner free-kick to make it 1-0 to Trinity.
Medics equalised shortly afterwards through Josh Marriott, who found the
back of the net from close range after the ball had been headed into his
path. 1-1. Marston gave Trinity the lead before half-time.
His sweetly struck thirty-yard shot whistled passed the Medics' keeper and
into the net to make it 2-1 to Trinity.
While Trinity looked the stronger team in the first half,
Medics with the wind behind them were the better side in the second period.
They had an appeal for a penalty turned down when Trinity's Gareth Curran
appeared to handle the ball on the goal-line. Shortly afterwards they
grabbed an equaliser. A goal-mouth scramble resembling a rugby union
ruck took place near Trinity's goal line following a corner. Medics'
centre back Chris Fosker forced the ball home to make it 2-2. Both
teams had chances to win the game but 2-2 is how the game ended.

Trinity 6 Bramley Juniors 4
Stevie Travers was on target twice as Trinity gained their
revenge for last season's Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield final defeat with a 6-4
victory over Bramley Juniors. However they were made to fight for
their victory after Bramley fought back from being four goals down to get
back onto level terms. But goals in the last fifteen minutes from
Gareth Curran and Travers clinched victory for Trinity.
Travers opened the scoring for Trinity with a goal from
close range after good work from Robbie Pearson. 1-0. Then Tom
Marston found the bottom corner of the net with a twenty yard free-kick to
make it 2-0. Pearson rounded the Bramley goalkeeper before putting the
ball into the net to make it 3-0. Despite Bramley's claims that he was
offside John Hobbs made it 4-0, shooting low past the keeper. It
looked as though there was only going to be one winner but then Bramley
launched their fight back. A long throw was flicked on by Lee Nutton at the near
post past Jimmy Yates in the Trinity goal. 4-1. Then just before
half-time Bramley's Brian Edwards scored another to make it 4-2.
In the second half Bramley continued to claw their way
back into the game. Midfielder Lee Nutton's right foot strike from the
edge of the penalty area made it 4-3. Then the come back was complete
when the ball was driven into the Trinity net from close range by Brad White after Trinity
failed to clear another long throw. With Bramley in the driving seat
they looked the more likely team to win the game. However they shot
themselves in the foot when their substitute centre back was sent off for
violent play, after appearing to kick Marston on the floor and aiming a head
butt in his direction after he took exception to a challenge. Despite going
down to ten men Bramley continued to take the game to Trinity but it was the
home side who scored with fifteen minutes to go. Gareth Curran ran
onto a through ball down the right flank. After out pacing the Bramley
left back he cut inside before shooting past the keeper to make it 5-4.
Travers clinched victory five minutes later, beating the tiring Bramley left
back for pace before shooting past the keeper. 6-4 the final score.

Trinity 2 St Nicholas 1
John Hobbs scored his first goal of the season as Trinity
beat ten man St Nicholas 2-1. Stevie Travers scored his tenth goal of
the season in the victory.
Despite only having ten players St Nicholas started the
game strongly with midfielders Chris Hitchens and Tim Bridge prominent.
However Trinity gradually got to grips with the game and after failing to
take a couple of chances they managed to take the lead not long before
half-time. A low shot from Hobbs twelve yards from goal found the
bottom corner of the net to put Trinity 1-0 up.
In the second half Trinity doubled their lead. After
looking second favourite to reach the ball Travers managed to take the ball
from the keeper, before getting up to prod the ball into the net. A
deserved goal for his efforts and 2-0 to Trinity. Trinity should have
added further goals but were wasteful in possession. St Nicholas never
stopped trying and were rewarded with a goal five minutes from time.
Midfielder Dave Jordan skilfully beat three Trinity players on the edge of
the penalty area before firing low towards goal. His team mate Tim
Bridge was first to meet the ball tapping home from close range. 2-1.
this led to an unnecessary nervy last few minutes for Trinity. However
they held on to secure their second consecutive league win.

Stevie Travers scored four goals as Trinity got back to
winning ways with a 6-3 victory over Huddersfield Amateurs. Tom
Marston and Robbie Pearson grabbed the other goals for Trinity.
With Trinity dominant in the early stages of the first
half it was no surprise when Travers opened the scoring to give the home
side a 1-0 lead. Huddersfield Amateurs equalised after a breakaway
through midfielder Si Bick to
make it 1-1. But Travers restored Trinity's lead before the break with
a close range header. Half-time score 2-1 to Trinity.
Within a minute of the restart Huddersfield Amateurs had
equalised. A well struck Si Bick shot from just outside the penalty area flew
past Queen in the Trinity goal to make it 2-2. Trinity regained the lead
when Marston's excellently drilled free-kick found the bottom corner of the
net to make it 3-2. Then Pearson rounded the keeper before slotting
home to make it 4-2. Travers completed his hat-trick, tapping the ball
home from close range after John Hobbs had turned the ball back for him.

Sandal Athletic 2
Trinity 1
Robbie Pearson's late goal wasn't enough for Trinity as
they were beaten 2-1 by Senior B side Sandal Athletic. Sandal who are
bottom of Senior B scored two first half goals as they ended Trinity's cup
hopes this season.
Sandal took the lead midway through the first half.
A cross from the left was headed in by Pete Derbyshire finding to put the

the majority of possession but they struggled to convert that into clear

camped out in the Sandal half. Tom Marston hit the post with a
free-kick but it wasn't until five minutes from time that Trinity scored.
Pearson cut in from the left to fire a shot from twenty yards into the roof

Terry Marflitt Trophy (Preliminary Round)
Shire Academics 3
Trinity 0
Luke Croager, Gordon Love and Dan Morgan scored the goals
as Senior B side Shire Academics knocked Trinity out of the Terry Marflitt
Trophy.
Trinity were presented with an early chance to take the
lead in the first half, when Shire's left back played the ball into the path
of Robbie Pearson on the edge of the penalty area. However Pearson
shot narrowly wide of the post after beating a defender. Shire took
the lead shortly afterwards. Croager scored from close range after the
ball was played back to him to make it 1-0. The home side doubled
their lead when forward Love lobbed Trinity keeper Jimmy Yates to make it
2-0.
In the second half with Trinity chasing the game Shire
added a third. Morgan finished off a move from close range after Shire
broke away following a Trinity corner. Resilient Shire defending
prevented Trinity from having any clear cut scoring chances and they ended
the game as worthy 3-0 victors.

Wortley 3
Trinity 3
Stevie Travers scored a late penalty as Trinity fought
back from two goals behind to earn a 3-3 draw with top of the table Wortley.
Richard Lambert and Robbie Pearson were also on target for Trinity.
Trinity took the lead in the first half. Lambert met
a Pearson cross with a faint glancing header, which deceived the
Wortley keeper and found the bottom corner of the net. 1-0 to Trinity.
Wortley equalised midway through the half. A low corner was met by the
unmarked Wortley midfielder Byron Spink who stroked the ball into the net to
make it 1-1.
Wortley took the lead in the second half. Trinity
right back Gareth Curran conceded a penalty which was converted by Wortley
midfielder Sean Stephenson, to give the home side a 2-1 lead.
Stephenson then scored his second of the game with a good strike from the
edge of the penalty area to give Wortley a 3-1 lead. Pearson narrowed
the deficit, finding the top corner of the net with an excellent shot from
outside the penalty area to make it 3-2. Then within the last ten
minutes of the game Tom Marston was adjudged to have been fouled in the
penalty area, resulting in a penalty being awarded. The Wortley right
back was sent off as a result of disputing the decision, verbally abusing
the referee in the process. Travers wasn't put off with the delay as
he expertly converted his penalty to give Trinity a share of the points.
3-3 the final score.

Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield (First Round)
Trinity 5 Yorkshire Bank 3
Stevie Travers scored four goals as Trinity advanced to
the second round of the Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield. Tom Marston scored
the other goal in the 5-3 victory.
Travers opened the scoring for Trinity heading home from
close range after Dave Kilsby flicked on a Marston throw. 1-0.
Shortly afterwards Travers scored his second, taking advantage of a fumble
from the Bank keeper to slot the ball into the unguarded net. 2-0.
Travers completed his hat-trick midway through the first half with a well
aimed shot from the edge of the area, making it 3-0. Just before
half-time the Bank narrowed the deficit when Trinity's Richard Lambert
turned the ball into his own net following a cross from the left. 3-1
the half-time score.
A minute after half-time Trinity extended their lead.
After stealing the ball from the Bank centre back Marston went on to score
an excellent individual goal to make it 4-1. One of the reasons
Yorkshire Bank have won two Senior A titles in the last three seasons is
their 'never say die' attitude and they demonstrated it again as they
launched a determined fight back, dominating possession. Geoff
Stothart and Andy Hartley both scored as the Bank narrowed the deficit to
4-3. However Trinity defended stoutly and a last minute penalty converted by
Travers ensured victory. 5-3 to Trinity the final score.

Trinity 2
Tom Priestley headed a late equaliser as Trinity gained
their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw at FC Headingley.
Robbie Pearson opened the scoring for Trinity in the first
half, cutting in from the left and finding the roof of the net after an
accurate Chris Gardiner through ball. 1-0 to Trinity, which was how
the first half ended.
FC Headingley equalised in the second half. A corner
was headed into the path of forward John Alsop who poked the ball home from
close range to make the score 1-1. Alsop gave the home side
the lead with his second of the game, firing home from just inside the penalty area after a FC Headingley breakaway. Trinity pressed forward in search of an
equaliser and were rewarded in the last minute of normal time.
