Trinity defender Pete Compton headed into his own net, to make the

pulling Travers back and then kicking him in his head, when he was on
the ground. However Trinity couldn't make the most of the one man

Ryan Bailey and Barry Danby both scored again to put Wortley 5-1 up.

Trinity thought they had taken the lead
when Dave Kilsby flicked the ball on for Richard Lambert, who found the
back of the net. However the goal was disallowed when the referee
adjudged that Kilsby had committed a foul. Gildersome took the
lead though Matty Moon. His header following a corner made it 1-0
to the home side. Then Ben Keedy scored for Gildersome, bundling

Trinity 1 Alwoodley 2
Stevie Travers scored, but Trinity conceded a
last minute goal to lose 2-1 to second placed Alwoodley.
Playing against the wind
Trinity dominated the possession in the first half. Their best
chance fell to right back Luke Stubbins. His shot was saved by the
keeper after he was played through by Travers. Alwoodley took the
lead on the half hour mark through midfielder Scott Wood. His
cross deceived everyone when it found its way into the back of the net.
1-0 to Alwoodley at half-time.
In the second half Tom
Marston and Robbie Pearson both blasted over from the edge of the
penalty area, as Trinity searched for an equaliser. Chris Gardiner
then skipped round a player in the penalty area before poking the ball
wide. Marston appeared to be chopped down in the penalty area
after beating two players, but the referee waved play on much to the
dismay of the Trinity players. With eight minutes to go Trinity finally
equalised. Travers followed up to score after the keeper couldn't hold
on to his original shot. Trinity at this stage looked the more
likely team to win. However in the last minute Alwoodley's Ben
Maher met a cross to fire into the net from close range. Despite
Trinity protesting that he was offside the goal stood. Final score
2-1 to Alwoodley.

Trinity 3 St Nicholas 0
John Hobbs scored for the fourth successive game as Trinity
beat St Nicholas 3-0. Robbie Pearson also scored in the victory.
With the wind behind them in the first half St Nicholas had
the early chances. Forward Ryan Brough was through on goal but Tom
Priestley recovered well to tackle him. Then St Nicholas struck the
bar with a free-kick from thirty yards. Trinity then created their own
chances. A lob from Hobbs hit the bar and Stevie Travers also had to
chance to open the scoring. Pearson gave Trinity the lead before
half-time with a fantastic goal. His well struck right foot half
volley from just outside the penalty area found the top corner of the net.
1-0 to Trinity.
In the second half St Nicholas had the majority of the early
possession without being able to create any clear cut chances. Trinity
scored their second when a long Jimmy Yates punt found John Hobbs. He
headed over the keeper, who managed to catch it. However he then
dropped the ball onto the knee of his team mate and the ball found the back
of the net. 2-0 to Trinity. Hobbs then scored a third for
Trinity when he beat the offside trap and passed the ball past the keeper
into the net. 3-0, a well deserved victory for Trinity.

Wortley 3 Trinity 1
John Hobbs scored for the third successive game but Trinity
lost 3-1 to Wortley.
Wortley opened the scoring in the first half. A cross
from the right was headed in by midfielder Sean Stephenson to give the home
side a 1-0 lead. Trinity's best chance in the first half fell to
Tom Marston. He struck a very good free-kick that was brilliantly
saved. Half-time 1-0 Wortley.
In the second half Trinity had more possession but Wortley
created the majority of chances. Ten minutes into the second half
Wortley scored again. A corner was driven in. Trinity's Tom Priestley
was first to the ball but unfortunately headed it into his own goal. 2-0 to
Wortley. Straight from the restart Marston crossed the ball into the
Wortley penalty area. Stevie Travers challenged the keeper for the
ball and it fell to Hobbs. He coolly placed it into top corner of net.
2-1. Trinity continued to play the ball around well on a sticky pitch.

forty-five minutes, opened the scoring in the first half. Chris

Ealandians 2 Trinity 2
Stevie Travers and John Hobbs scored but Trinity conceded a
last minute goal to draw 2-2 with Ealandians.
The home side dominated the first half going down the slope. However
despite creating chances they failed to score. Robbie Pearson missed
Trinity's best chance in a goalless first forty-five minutes.
Trinity opened the scoring within fifteen minutes of the
restart. After being fouled down in the penalty area Travers picked
himself up and scored the resulting penalty. 1-0 to Trinity. Ten
minutes later John Hobbs beat the oncoming Ealandians keeper to the ball
before steering the ball into the net, scoring his first goal of the season
for the first team. 2-0. Fifteen minutes were
remaining when Ealandians scored their first goal. A corner dropped to
Ealandians' centre back Stuart Caroll, who poked the ball into the net from
close range. 2-1 to Trinity. Travers had a chance to extend
Trinity's lead shortly afterwards, but he volleyed over the bar six yards
from goal. Ealandians' equaliser arrived in the last minute of the
game. Caroll scored his second of the game when he headed the
ball into the net at the back post following a corner. 2-2. The
match wasn't quite over. Trinity's Tom Priestley made an excellent
attempt at scoring with a shot from his own half straight from the restart.
In fact he celebrated when he thought his attempt had found the back of the
net. However he celebrated by himself as his team mates realised he
was mistaken. The ball had in fact hit the outside of the net after
striking the perimeter wall. Final score 2-2.

Leeds & District Senior Cup (First Round)
Trinity 2 Leeds City 2
(after extra time, 5-4 to Trinity on pens)
Jimmy Yates was Trinity's hero with three penalty
saves, as Trinity defeated Leeds City on penalties in the first round of
the Leeds & District Senior Cup. Stevie Travers and Marc Ware had
earlier scored the goals as the game finished 2-2 at the end of extra
time.
Trinity had the best chances in a goalless first half.
A Travers shot dropped on the goal line after being tipped onto the bar
by the keeper. Dave Kilsby was presented with the simple task of
tapping the ball into the net. However the keeper managed to get a
hand to the ball and tap it away. Then Kilsby had a header from
close range saved. Trinity had a big claim for a penalty rejected
after the referee failed to spot a Leeds City player handle the ball in
the penalty area. Half-time score 0-0.
The second half was dominated by Leeds City, with
Trinity struggling to get out of their own half. The away side
took the lead when Abraham Charles headed home from close range, after Trinity
failed to clear a corner. 1-0 to Leeds City. Trinity
continued to find themselves under pressure but defended
resolutely, as Leeds City attempted to extend their lead. Then
with fifteen minutes left Trinity equalised. Stevie Travers
converted a Robbie Pearson from close range to make it 1-1, which is how
the game ended at the end of normal time.
Leeds City continued their territorial dominance in
extra time. They took the lead in the first period through
midfielder Tom Hitchcock. After playing a one-two with ex-Trinity
player Leroy McIntosh, Hitchcock placed a low shot past Yates. 2-1
to Leeds City. Despite struggling to get out of their own half
Trinity remarkably equalised with minutes remaining of extra-time.
Marc Ware pounced on a mistake by a Leeds City defender. His
speculative shot thirty yards from goal looped over the keeper and into
the back of the net. 2-2 and the game went to penalties.
After seven penalties each the score was
four apiece. Travers, Higgins, Ryan and Kilsby had all converted for Trinity.
Pearson, Priestley and Ware had unfortunately seen their penalties saved.
Leeds City's Joe Liddell had struck the bar with his spot kick.
Jimmy Yates had saved another two, including one from Leroy McIntosh.
Ex-Trinity player Rayon Maynard, who had scored the deciding penalty for
Trinity in a shootout two years ago, stepped up to take Leeds City's
eighth penalty. Yates guessed correctly and made his first save.
Trinity player manager Chris Gardiner then stepped up and scored his
penalty, to put Trinity through to the second round of the competition.

Terry Marflitt Trophy (First Round)
Trinity 2 Heckmondwike 3
Stevie Travers and Dave Kilsby both scored but their
goals couldn't prevent Trinity falling at the first hurdle in the Terry
Marflitt Trophy. A late Heckmondwike goal gave the visitors a 3-2
victory.
Trinity took the lead early in the first half.
After earning his side a penalty Stevie Travers stepped up to score from
the spot to give Trinity a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately before
half-time Travers was judged to have handled the ball in his own penalty
area. Heckmondwike's Olly Fisher scored the resulting penalty to
make it 1-1.
In the second half centre back Dave Kilsby scored to
give Trinity the lead. His low shot found the bottom corner of the
net, after Heckmondwike failed to clear a corner. 2-1 to Trinity.
Then the away side equalised with a Garrett Stead shot that crept in at the near post.
2-2. With five minutes remaining it looked as though the game was
heading towards extra-time. However Heckmondwike managed to score
a winner with five minutes to go. The referee failed to spot a
handball in the lead up to the goal which was scored by the Heckmonwike
midfielder Richard Briggs. Final score 3-2 to Heckmonwike.

Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield (Preliminary Round)
Bransholme Athletic 2 Trinity 3
Stevie Travers bagged a hat-trick as Trinity's first
team finally kicked off their season with a 3-2 victory over Hull side
Bransholme Athletic in the preliminary round of the Yorkshire Old Boys'
Shield.
Despite creating a number of first half chances
Trinity went in to the half-time break 1-0 down. A low John
Collins shot
from the edge of the penalty found the bottom corner of the net to give
the home side the lead after Trinity carelessly conceded possession in
their own half.
Travers, who had missed a couple of first half
opportunities, equalised for Trinity early in the second half. His close
range finish following good work from Ryan Hale made it 1-1.
Travers gave Trinity the lead when he lobbed the advancing keeper to
make it 2-1. The home side equalised through left winger Brad
Allon to
make it 2-2. However Travers regained the lead for Trinity when he
