Saturday 22 November 2008
1st team
Leeds Medics (Home) - League
Trinity entertain top of the table Leeds Medics in Senior A this Saturday
22 November.
Last season Trinity played Leeds Medics four times. Leeds Medics
beat Trinity twice, 3-1 in the league and 3-1 in the quarter final of
the Leeds & District Senior Cup. Trinity were 1-0 winners in the
semi-final of the Terry Marflitt Trophy. The other league fixture
was drawn 2-2. This season the Medics currently currently lead
Senior A with sixteen points from seven games. Leeds University
are the only team to have beaten them. Forward Darren Griffiths
has been banging in the goals for the Medics this season, backed up by
midfielders Steve Slater and James White. Trinity will have to get
to grips with them if they are to be successful this Saturday against a
side who are always capable of playing good quality football.
2nd team
Modernians II (Home)
- League)
Trinity II entertain bottom of the table Modernians II
this Saturday 22 November in Division Two.
Modernians have made a poor start to the season having lost all seven
league games that they've played so far. This includes a 6-2
defeat at home to Trinity, a game which saw Trinity's Adam Gillott,
Peter Brown and Kieron Young all score twice. On Saturday Old
Modernians lost 4-2 at Leeds City OB II. Trinity will be hoping to
get back to winning ways after a string of inconsistent performances.
Let's hope they can do it this Saturday.

1st team
Bramley Juniors (Home) - League
Trinity entertain
second from bottom Bramley Juniors in Senior A this Saturday 15 November.
Last season Bramley were promoted as champions from Senior B. They
also beat Trinity 2-0 in the final of the Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield in
what was their most successful season since joining the league.
Unfortunately after losing a couple of plyers from last season's squad
they haven't started this season as well as they'd hoped. They
have oly managed to gain one point out of their first four league games,
though that was a creditable 2-2 draw with Old Rovers. On Saturday
they got back to winning ways with a 6-3 victory over Division One's
East Ardsley in the Terry Marflitt Trophy. Bramley are a young,
lively, enthusiastic side. Midfielder Andy Horseman, who pulled
the strings against Trinity in the Yorkshire Old Boys Shield final and
forward Nathan Floyd are two key players in Bramley's line-up that
Trinity will have to watch.
2nd team
East Leeds Trinity (Home)
- League)
Trinity II entertain top of the table East Leeds
Trinity this
Saturday 15 November in Division Two.
Last season Trinity drew 2-2 at East Leeds away from home but were
beaten 3-1 in the return fixture at St Theresa's. East Leeds
Trinity finished the season in fifth place, two points and two places
behind Trinity. Just like last season East Leeds have started off
with three league victories before drawing their fourth league game.
Last season it was Trinity that took the first points of the East Leeds
side with a 2-2 draw. This season it was Agnes Stewart who drew
4-4 with them. However unlike last season East Leeds have bounced
back from that draw with two victories, to be leading Division Two with
sixteen points from six games. Kean Varley who was a prolific
scorer for East Leeds last season is still getting amongst the goals in
this campaign. Trinity will have to keep a close eye on him if
they are to succeed in this game.

Saturday 8 November 2008
1st team
Huddersfield Amateurs (Home) - League
Trinity entertain
bottom of the table St Nicholas in Senior A this Saturday 8 November.
Last season honours were shared between the sides in the league with
Trinity victorious 5-1 at the start of the season and St Nicholas
winning 3-2 in January. Trinity also beat St Nicholas 6-0 in the
Leeds & District Senior Cup. St Nicholas eventually finished the
season in tenth place. So far this season St Nicholas have lost
all three league games they've played. On Saturday they lost 2-0
at home to top of the table Leeds Medics. Reports suggest that
they put up a stirring performance suggesting it won't be long before
they start climbing up the table. Tim Bridge, Dave Jordan and
David Hames are three St Nicholas players who will ensure that Trinity
find it difficult on Saturday in what promises to be a tough encounter.
2nd team
Agnes Stewart (Home)
- League)
Trinity II entertain third placed Agnes Stewart this
Saturday 8 November in Division Two, for the second successive week.
After suffering their heaviest ever defeat on Saturday against Agnes
Stewart, 7-0, Trinity will be looking to bounce back. Obviously bouncing back after such a heavy defeat will be difficult. Agnes
Stewart will be full of confidence following so it
promises to be an extremely tough game for Trinity. Forward Ben
Bradley who scored a hat-trick on Saturday will have to be marked
carefully by Trinity if they are to succeed on Saturday.

Saturday 1 November 2008
1st team
Huddersfield Amateurs (Home) - League
Trinity entertain
seventh placed Huddersfield Amateurs in Senior A this Saturday 1
November. Last season Trinity failed to beat the Huddersfield
side, losing 2-1 away and drawing 1-1 at home. Then in the first
game of this season they went down 4-1 to the Huddersfield based side.
Since then Huddersfield Amateurs have played a further three league
games, losing all three of them. However they did mange to beat
Division Three's Colton Academicals 3-1 on Saturday in the second round
of the Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield. Chris Binks, Tex Rickard and
Joe Simmons are players
Trinity will have to keep a close eye on this Saturday, as they go in
search for their first league win of the season.
2nd team
Agnes Stewart (Away)
- League)
Trinity II visit fourth placed Agnes Stewart this
Saturday 1 November in Division Two. Last season Trinity drew with
Agnes Stewart twice in the league, 1-1 and 3-3. After losing their
first league game of this season Agnes Stewart are unbeaten in five
games. On Saturday they beat Centralians II 2-0. Agnes
Stewart will be full of confidence following their recent run so it
promises to be a tough game for Trinity.

Saturday 25 October 2008
1st team
Sandal Athletic (Away)
- Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield (Second
Round)
Trinity visit Senior B side Sandal
Athletic in the second round of the Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield this Saturday
25
October. After finishing fourth in Senior B last season they have
made to a poor start in this campaign, losing their first three league
games. On Saturday they lost 2-1 at Roundhegians. However they
have faired better in cup competitions. They beat Division Three
side Grangefield 3-2 in the preliminary round of the Terry Marflitt
Trophy and in this competition they beat St Mary's College on penalties
in the first round, after drawing the match 3-3. Teams from Senior
B generally raise their game against Senior A sides, as Trinity know to
their cost after being beaten by Shire Academics in the Terry Marflitt
Trophy. It is likely to be another tough cup tie for Trinity.
2nd team
Leeds City OB II (Away)
- League)
Trinity II visit third placed Leeds City OB II this Saturday
25 October
in Division Two. So far this season Leeds City have won three and
lost three league games. On
Saturday they beat Gildersome Spurs III 3-1. Last season Trinity
did the double over Leeds City (who were then the club's third team)
beating them 2-1 both times. Leeds City eventually finished last
season in fourth place, one point and one place behind Trinity. It is
likely to be a game with plenty of goals looking at the goals against
columns of both teams.

Saturday 18 October 2008
1st team
Carlton Athletic (Away)
- Leeds & District Senior Cup (First Round)
Trinity visit West Yorkshire League side Carlton
Athletic in the first round of the Leeds & District Cup this Saturday 18
October. Carlton are the current holders of this competition after
beating Farsley Celtic Reserves in last season's final. Carlton
also won the West Yorkshire Championship last season to make it a
successful year for the club. So far this season they have won
four and drawn one of the eight league games they've played and
currently lie in eighth position in the West Yorkshire Premier Division.
On Saturday they beat Ilkley Town 3-2 in their League Cup.
Trinity, who reached the final of this cup in 2005/06 and made it to the
quarter final stages in the last two seasons, have obviously been drawn
against tough opposition. Reports suggest Carlton are a young,
quick side. Trinity will have to be at their very best to get a
good result this Saturday.
2nd team
Modernians II (Away)
- League)
Trinity II visit bottom of the table Modernians II this Saturday 18 October
in Division Two. Modernians have lost all three league games that
they've played so far this season to lie bottom of the table. On
Saturday they lost 3-1 to Huddersfield Amateurs, who recorded their
first points of the season. Last season Trinity lost 3-2 at
Modernians but won 3-0 in the return fixture. With both sides
seemingly struggling this season it is likely to be a tense affair.
Both sides have been leaking goals this season. If Trinity's
defence can hold firm this Saturday they have every chance of getting
the three points.

Saturday 11 October 2008
1st team
Shire Academics (Away) -
Terry Marflitt Trophy (Preliminary Round)
Trinity visit Senior B side Shire Academics this Saturday
11
October in the preliminary round of the Terry Marflitt Trophy.
Last season Trinity reached the final of this trophy, where they were
beaten by Gildersome Spurs. This season they'll be hoping to go one
better but they're starting this season's campaign against tough
opposition. Shire Academics are a relatively new team to the
Yorkshire Old Boys' League and have progresses steadily in the few years
they've been in the league. Last season they were promoted to
Senior B after finishing fourth in Division One. So far this
season they've played two league games, drawing one and losing one.
On Saturday they were beaten 3-1 by Field Sports & Social Reserves in
the West Riding FA Challenge Trophy. Trinity have only played
Shire Academics once. That was in the 2005/06 Yorkshire Old Boys'
Shield semi-final. Trinity beat the then high flying Division Four
side 2-1 after extra-time. Luke Croager who scored for Shire that
day will pose the biggest threat to Trinity this Saturday. Shire
have been under strength this season. However they are capable of
beating any team in the league on their day, so Trinity will have to be
at the best to ensure it isn't Shire's day.
2nd team
Ealandians II (Away)
- Hancock Cup (First Round)
Trinity II visit fellow Division Two side Ealandians II
for the second week this running this Saturday 11 October. This
time it's in the first round of the Hancock Cup. Trinity grabbed
their first points of the season at the weekend when they beat
Ealandians 1-0. They'll be happy to achieve the same result this
Saturday.

Saturday 4 October 2008
1st team
Wortley (Away) -
League
Trinity visit top of the table Wortley this Saturday 4
October in Senior A. After being promoted from Senior B Wortley
have made an impressive start to life in Senior A, with three straight
victories to be the early pace setters. On Saturday they beat
Division One side Wheelwright 5-2 in the first round of the Yorkshire
Old Boys' Shield. Ex-Beeston St Anthony's forward Tony Garth is making
an impact for Wortley this season. His experience alongside
forward Dale Dodsworth and the rest of the youthful Wortley side is
making them true title contenders. The last time these sides met
Trinity came out on top, beating Wortley 3-1 in the Terry Marflitt
Trophy last season. It will take an excellent performance from
Trinity this Saturday to repeat that result.
2nd team
Ealandians II (Home)
- League
Trinity II entertain ninth placed Ealandians II this
Saturday 4 October in Division Two. After being promoted from Division
Three last season Ealandians have won one and lost three of the four
league games they've played so far in Division Two. On Saturday
they lost 7-4 against Leeds City OB II. After three straight
defeats, all against Moortown, Trinity will be looking to get back to
winning ways this Saturday.

Saturday 27 September 2008
1st team
Yorkshire Bank (Home) - Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield (First Round)
Trinity entertain Senior A rivals Yorkshire Bank this Saturday 27 September
in the first round of the Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield. Last season
Trinity reached the final of this competition, where they lost 2-0 to
Bramley Juniors. Yorkshire Bank reached the semi-finals where they
were also beaten by the eventual winners Bramley Juniors.
Obviously it's a tough start for Trinity in this season's competition.
Yorkshire Bank won the Senior A title in 2005/06 and 2006/07. Last
season they finished in third place. Trinity played the Bank twice
in the league last season, drawing 3-3 at home and winning 2-0 away.
It was Trinity's first victory over the Bank since gaining promotion to
Senior A in 2004. Yorkshire Bank are a strong, competitive side.
Midfielder Gareth Huxhall and his brother, forward Gavin, have been
their key players in the last couple of seasons. Andy Hartley is
also a hard working forward who may pose a serious threat to the Trinity
defence. The Bank have started this season with two league defeats
so they'll be looking to get back to winning ways this Saturday.
2nd team
Moortown OB (Home)
- League
Trinity II face Moortown OB for the third week
running this
Saturday 27 September. After losing each of the last two games by four
goals, 5-1 and 7-3, Trinity will be looking for a big turnaround
in this weekend's fixture. Their defence will obviously have to be
a lot tighter after conceding twelve goals in two games. Moortown
forward Danny King who has scored five goals in the last two games will
surely be confident of adding to his tally. He will need to be
closely marked if Trinity are to gain a positive result.

Saturday 20 September 2008
1st team
FC Headingley (Away) - League
Trinity visit FC Headingley this Saturday 20 September
in Senior A. Last season FC Headingley finished a creditable
fourth place in their first ever season in Senior A. They beat
Trinity 2-1 in a tight league game at the start of March. Trinity
gained their revenge beating FC Headingley 5-4 in the last league game
of the season, though that game was a more relaxed affair. FC
Headingley are a big, physical side. In Matt Raw they have a
forward who could pose a serious threat to Trinity. He was on
target for FC Headingley in the one league game they've played so far
this season, when they drew 2-2 with Leeds Medics.
2nd team
Moortown OB (Away)
- Leeds & District Cup
(First Round)
Trinity II visit Moortown OB for the second week
running this
Saturday 20 September. This time it's in the first round of the Leeds &
District Cup. After Trinity's 5-1 defeat at the weekend they'll be
looking for a big improvement if they are to win through to the next
round. However Moortown will be extremely confident so are bound
to provide difficult opposition again. Danny King who scored two
at the weekend will have to be watched must closer by Trinity's
defenders. It's going to be a tough game.

Saturday 13 September 2008
1st team
Huddersfield Amateurs (Away) - League
Trinity kick off their season with an away fixture at
Huddersfield Amateurs in Senior A this Saturday 13 September. Last
season Trinity failed to beat the Huddersfield side, losing 2-1 away and
drawing 1-1 at home. However they did end the season above them in
the table, after winning their last six games to finish in sixth
position. Huddersfield Amateurs finished in ninth spot.
Trinity will have to cope without the departed McIntosh, Maynard, Mughal
and Cameron-Riggon. Even this won't be easy they still have plenty
of quality players to have another good season in Senior A.
Huddersfield Amateurs' Chris Binks and Tex Rickard are two players
Trinity will have to keep a close eye on this Saturday.
2nd team
Moortown OB (Away) - League
Trinity II visit Moortown OB for their first game of
the season this
Saturday 13 September in Division Two. Last season Moortown finished in
sixth position, three points behind Trinity who finished in third spot.
Trinity won both league games against Moortown last season, though they
were tight affairs. Trinity finished 5-4 winners away from home
and then beat them 2-1 at home. Matt Price, who scored all four
Moortown goals in the 5-4 game, and Danny King are two players Trinity
will have to watch out for this Saturday. It will be tough game
for Trinity, particularly as a number of players are expected to be
missing.
